- Unless there are glaring faults with java, I would consider this a waste of
- time.

- Sad as it is, UNIX is quite entrenched, and does most jobs, most of the
- time, until now. I have no doubt that in a few short years, people will be
- held back by unix (as they are now with msdos), because of legacy code and
- the need to support the older programs run by bussinesses.

- Who knows ? UNIX is certainly better than msdos; maybe they will fix it's
- shortcomings with a number of small sacrfices impossible on lesser machines
- than the typical unix box. It's not what i call ashetic though.

- My point on this sub-dsicussion is that to continue to have unix being
- useful, it will need exponentially more comp resources. A new os, designed
- with modern ideas, might have far less, and therefore run faster, better,
- have more functions, and various other abilities that are too difficult to
- retrofit to unix. Price/performance.
